However, because of that there were LONG load times every time you changed party members or powerups, as the whole dang thing had to be reloaded. In another post on Steam he said that one mistake he made early on was putting all the "worlds," battles, and so on into one map, to avoid all the little load times that slow a game down. I'm disappointed that the mobile ports that he promised won't be coming after all, but I can understand why. I can't fault Scott for not wanting to spend yet more time on a game that he's taken so much heat for, and which he isn't making a cent on. Posting this game here really opened my eyes to what an awesome community GameJolt actually has. Thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement. It was a project of love for me and something that I enjoyed working on. Requests for Update 3 and mobile ports have been coming in on an almost daily basis, and that’s a real silver lining to what has been a dark cloud for me.įNaF World will continue to have a home here on GameJolt. There’s a big hatebase too, no doubt, and maybe rightfully so, but that doesn’t diminish the amount of love that a lot of people have for this game. There has been a huge outpouring of support and love for this game recently, and it’s been really heartwarming. Unfortunately, as mentioned in my Steam post, I made some mistakes very early in this game’s development that are going to make further changes very difficult, and I think that that time and effort would be better spent on new projects. This game had a good run, and it garnered a surprisingly large following here on GameJolt with almost 4 million downloads. There won’t be an update 3, and there won’t be mobile ports.
The games have also yielded a book and a movie adaptation has also been announced.I wanted to comment on the final fate of FNaF World.
It is the only RPG in the otherwise horror point-and-click PC game series. The "FNAF World" RPG is the final installment in the game portion of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise. It may take them a while to set that up, but it will be in place soon," explained Cawthon. "I've also asked Valve to make it so that the game can be refunded regardless of the amount of the time it has been owned, meaning that anyone can get a refund at any time. In addition to apologizing for rushing the release of "FNAF World," Cawthon later explained that a refund would eventually become available for those who purchased the game on Steam. I'm going to fix this, and I'll be updating the game with these features in the coming weeks." "I got too eager to show the things that were finished, that I neglected to pay attention to the things that weren't. "I've been accused on rushing my games ever since FNaF 1, but I've never felt that I'd released a game too early.
Fans can download the updated version of "FNAF World" here.Īfter initially receiving many negative reviews on Steam for the first version of "FNAF World," Cawthon issued a formal apology and promised to update the game.
True to his word, creator Cawthon has updated the original "FNAF World" RPG and made it available for free on Gamejolt.
Luckily for "Five Nights at Freddy's" fans, Scott Cawthon has heard the complaints and took the steps to address them. Usually, if a video game receives bad reviews (even if they don't account for otherwise mostly positive reviews), the game is often not remade or updated to address fans concerns.
